Enterprise Search

Where will you be found?

Experiences in the past and our daily contact with this issue have shown that the search within a website is often neglected.

Everybody uses Google, Yahoo and the like - but what about the performance of the search engine on your own website?

How can customers find information on your website?

Enterprise Search

Why do you need a search engine?

At ecomplexx, we distinguish between three types of users in the analysis and design of websites: The "solution seeker", the "information getter" and the "overviewer".

The solution seeker looks for very special answers to his question. We can only help him with his search to a limited extent and/or with extensive efforts. (A sound solution-oriented access to this information is the answer here). We can also only help the overviewerto a limited extent. He most likely clicks through your pages and surfs around.

The information getteron the other hand only wants one thing: Uncomplicated and fast access to information. A strong classic navigation, an outstanding search option and a single point of information are the tools that make our knowledge workers happy.

Beyond this role model, we have found out that many users see the web as a giant search engine. Searching is an essential function of the web, and many people no longer distinguish between their operating system, a browser, Google or your website. Users want answers to their questions.

However, there is no Google in this impenetrable and autonomous moloch called Intranet. It is simply impossible to find information there. That's the bad news...

The good news is: An expedient and user-friendly search function may be the right booster for your Intranet and its acceptance in your company.

However, there are many special requirements for the application of search technologies in the Intranet:

  • personalisation and rights management Of course, you would not want to find your salary statement in the Intranet.

  • Document search There is a special focus on document search in the Intranet. The application and integration of special document management systems is advisable here.

  • Integration of different data sources Your colleagues want an input box to find the desired information, regardless of whether this is located on the website, in the CRM system or in SAP. The linkup of the most varied content repositories and databases is an important issue for the search in the Intranet.

For this reason, we focus extensively on enterprise search and implement individual optimised search solutions at our customers produced by leading manufacturers.
